Gary R. Kabureck
Overview
Gary Kabureck is vice president and chief accounting officer at Xerox Corporation, Stamford, Conn. He was named to this position in May 2003. He is also a corporate officer, appointed in 2000. Kabureck is responsible for Xerox's worldwide books of account, external financial reporting and finance systems. He also oversees Sarbanes - Oxley financial compliance processes, internal control, audit coordination activities and finance training. He is the interface with PriceWaterhouseCoopers on all matters of consolidated significance; and maintains, develops and interprets accounting policies. Kabureck joined Xerox in 1985 after a 10-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. During his tenure at Xerox, he has assumed increasing responsibility in managing and directing accounting policies, standards, procedures and controls. He also served as the vice president of financial services for the North American Solutions Group from 1997 to 2000. Most recently, he served as assistant controller and chief accounting officer for the corporation. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1975 and a master's degree in business administration and finance in 1982, both from the University of Bridgeport (Conn.). He is past president and current member of the Financial Executives Institute, Rochester (N.Y.) Chapter; member of the American Institute of CPAs; a former member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board-Emerging Issues Task Force Working Group; and a former accounting instructor at the University of Bridgeport; and a former member the Connecticut Society of CPA's. Kabureck was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Bridgeport, Conn.
