Overview
Dr. Karl-Gerhard Eick, born in 1954, has been head of the Finance and Controlling Division and a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Telekom AG since January 2000. In November 2002 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. After studying business administration and earning a doctorate, Dr. Eick worked in various positions for BMW AG between 1982 and 1988. From 1989 to 1991 he acted as head of Controlling at WMF AG in Geislingen. In 1991 he became head of the Controlling, Planning and IT Division for the Carl Zeiss group. From 1993 to 1999 he held top management positions with the Haniel group, where he was responsible for the Controlling, Business Administration and IT Division of the strategic management holding company of Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH. Other board memberships outside Deutsche Telekom: Deutsche Bank AG, Frankfurt am Main (Supervisory Board); FC Bayern Munchen AG, Munchen (Supervisory Board).
