Alan W. Dunton, M.D. has been a member of the Board since October 2006. Since January 2007, he has been chief executive officer of Panacos Pharmaceuticals Inc., a pharmaceutical company. From January 2006 to January 2007, he served as chairman of the board of ActivBiotics, Inc. From January 2003 to December 2005, he served as chief executive officer of Metaphore Pharmaceuticals. From January 2002 to December 2002, he served as chief operating officer of Emisphere Technologies, Inc. Each of ActivBiotics, Metaphore Pharmaceuticals and Emisphere Technologies is a biotechnology company. Dr. Dunton currently serves on the board of directors of each of the publicly-traded companies MediciNova, Inc., Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, Inc. and Panacos Pharmaceuticals Inc.
