Dr. Nabil Y. Sakkab, Ph.D.
Overview
On October 28, 2008, the Board of Directors of Altria Group, Inc. appointed Dr. Nabil Y. Sakkab to the Board of Directors and to the newly created Innovation Committee of the Board of Directors. Dr. Sakkab retired from Procter & Gamble after 33 years at the end of November 2007. Prior to his retirement, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate Research and Development, a position he held from 2005 through 2007. He was also a member of the Leadership Council of Procter & Gamble. Dr. Sakkab joined Procter & Gamble in 1974 after receiving his Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology and after working as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Texas A&M University. Dr. Sakkab serves on the board of Givaudan SA. He previously served on the boards of Industrial Research Institute, CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council), CEFIC Research & Science, Greenearth Company and is an Advisory Professor of Tsinghua University in Bejing.
