Charles E. Brown

Overview

Mr. Brown has been President, International since 2005. In 2007, oversight of business development was added to his role. He was the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Brown was Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller since he joined our company in 1998. Before joining Office Depot, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Denny's, Inc. from 1996 until 1998; from 1994 until 1995, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ARAMARK International; and from 1989 until 1994, he was Vice President and Controller of Pizza Hut International, a Division of PepsiCo, Inc. On February 26, 2008, Office Depot, Inc. announced Charles E. Brown, has agreed to assume the role of acting Chief Financial Officer of the Company effective March 1, 2008. The Company plans to begin its search for a permanent Chief Financial Officer immediately and will announce a successor when this process is completed. Prior to Mr. Newman"s appointment, Mr. Charles Brown, President of the Company"s International Division, served as the Company"s acting Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Brown will continue as President of the International Division.
