Belen Garijo

Overview

Belen Garijo has a degree in medicine, majoring in clinical pharmacology. Her career in the pharmaceutical industry began at Abbott, where she was Medical Director of the Spanish subsidiary before being appointed Director of International Medical Affairs at Abbott's United States headquarters in Illinois. In 1996, she joined Rhone-Poulenc Rorer in Spain as Head of the Oncology Business Unit. She was subsequently responsible for Aventis' global marketing and medical strategy in Oncology, based in New Jersey, United States. She returned to Spain in 2003 as Managing Director of the Group's Spanish subsidiary. She was appointed to her current position in July 2006. The commercial operations of Germany have reported to Belen Garijo since January 1, 2008.
