ALBERTO IBARGUEN, 64, has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation since 2005. Mr. Ibarguen previously served as Chairman of Miami Herald Publishing Co., a Knight Ridder subsidiary, and as publisher of The Miami Herald and of El Nuevo Herald. He is a member of the board of The Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the Trustees' Council of the National Gallery of Art, a member of the Advisory Council of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the Chairman of the Board of The Newseum in Washington, D.C. Mr. Ibarguen is also a director of AMR Corporation and American Airlines, Inc. Mr. Ibarguen was elected to PepsiCo's Board in 2005.
