Gorham Emergency Medical Service s primary mission is to provide basic and advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care and ambulance transportation to the sick and injured 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, GEMS provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance transportation to anywhere in New England. GEMS is an integral part of the New Hampshire Emergency Medical Service system and thus provides mutual aid response to any neighboring town or city in the event of catastrophe or if there is a need for additional resources. Gorham EMS provides education to local communities and the general public on health and safety issues in addition to CPR and First Aid classes. It also sponsors and conducts continuing education, First Responder and Emergency Medical Technician classes.
