VisualOn Announces Multimedia Software Solution for Texas Instruments OMAP35x Applications Processors

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct 08, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ -- ARM Developers Conference --
VisualOn, Inc. today announced a multimedia software solution for Texas
Instruments (TI) OMAP35x applications processors, providing developers with
impressive levels of value and performance for their multimedia-enabled
consumer devices and industrial products. VisualOn's integrated multimedia
software solution supports all the essential functions needed to enable video
for
ARM-based applications as well as the ability to support larger screen sizes
and higher resolution video. Demonstrations of VisualOn's software on TI's
OMAP35x evaluation module (EVM) and the popular OMAP35x based Beagle Board can
be seen in VisualOn's booth #919 at the ARM Developers Conference, which is
held from October 7-9, 2008 in Santa Clara, Cali.

"By taking advantage VisualOn's advanced optimization techniques, ARM(R)
Cortex(TM)-A8 processor and NEON(TM) processing power, VisualOn has customized
a software solution that delivers compelling performance levels and value for
our customers," said Sean Torsney, worldwide vice president of sales and
marketing, VisualOn. "By working closely with TI, we have been able to broaden
our product portfolio from the traditional mobile wireless markets to the
general consumer and industrial markets."

With VisualOn's software for the ARM only OMAP3503 and OMAP3515 devices
and TI's feature-rich video subsystem on the OMAP3525 and OMAP3530 devices,
customers designing with TI's scalable series of OMAP35x processors can enable
high-quality video in their next-generation, smart connected devices. At
significantly reduced design times, this combined software and hardware
solution provides customers with the flexibility to select the right processor
to fix their exact video needs.

"By collaborating with VisualOn on a comprehensive software offering for
OMAP35x processor-based designs, we can provide developers with the
flexibility to add multimedia capabilities to the ARM-only, OMAP3503 and
OMAP3515 processors," said Gerard Andrews, Applications Processors product
line manager, TI. "This capability will allow our customers to choose the
appropriate level of multimedia performance for their end product and choose
the appropriate device from the four scalable devices that comprise the
OMAP35x family."
