Springfield Day Nursery's 124-year mission to provide for the early education and care needs of families and children continues with a sense of resolve and responsibility. Our mission is to prepare children, in partnership with families, to succeed in school, at work, and in life. We are a private, not-for-profit provider of early education and care offering concrete family-life solutions for families and their children. Through partnerships with community agencies we assist families in removing barriers to early education and care, job training, transportation, tuition assistance and many other socio- economic and quality of life issues. Springfield Day Nursery is an integral early education and care spoke in a community wheel of diverse partnerships and neighborhood resources working together on positive education and family outcomes. Springfield Day Nursery's four center-based programs are located throughout the city of Springfield and serve a total of 556 infant, toddler, pre-school, and kindergarten students. Our Family home-care providers and before/after school based programs serve another 445 children. The Center-based programs open at 6:30 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. and remain open as late as 6:00 pm for the convenience of working parents. Springfield Day Nursery is fully licensed by the Common-wealth of Massachusetts and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NYAEYC).
