Overview
Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, Inc, is a product-based, specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in the development and marketing of small molecule drugs for chronic diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). Following our founding in 2002, we rapidly acquired rights to a promising portfolio of small molecule drugs, all with unique attributes and targeting chronic CNS conditions not adequately served by current therapies. Our portfolio now consists of several product candidates being studied for a range of CNS conditions, including Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's disease, restless legs syndrome, schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer's disease, and sleep apnea. We filed our first New Drug Application (NDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2005 for our lead product candidate, tetrabenazine, a highly selective and reversible dopamine depletor that is under evaluation in the U.S. for potential use as a treatment for chorea associated with Huntington's Disease.
