Overview

In the spring of 1987, Mrs. Ball from Adams School had us selling popcorn for the 6th grade circus to raise money for the school. This then led to the purchase of a Sno-Kone machine. We then were used by many of the local schools for their "Fun Nights". Charlie Fulerton started calling me "Popcorn" and "Popcorn Charlie" at our work at the Mt. Joy Caterpillar Plant. We then added the "and Company" to include Judy, our sons and others who helped us. In the spring of 1988 our replica antique Popcorn Wagon found us and we added another step in our popcorn journey. Our wagon serves popcorn to many local events. The Bix Memorial Jazz Festival every July, the Putnam Museum's spring and fall events, and the Quad City Symphony Pops Concert in September at Le Claire Park. In October of 1988 Caterpillar closed it's Mt. Joy Plant leaving dot of us unemployed. In January of 1989 we heard that the "Popcorn Shoppe" in Moline was for sale due to retirement and the sale of the business location...
