Overview
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in San Diego, California, Naviscan PET Systems develops and manufactures specialized positron emission tomography (PET) scanners and molecular agents used for high-resolution imaging to help physicians and researchers diagnose and locate cancer, guide interventions, and advance new clinical therapies. Used as an adjunct to conventional imaging technologies, Naviscan products contribute to the early detection of cancer. Privately held and funded by Sanderling Ventures, Mayo Medical Ventures, Walker Ventures and QuestMark Partners, Naviscan is the first company to obtain FDA clearance for a high-resolution PET scanner designed to image small body parts. Powered by PET, Naviscan systems enable physicians to identify and characterize malignancies which might otherwise go undetected.
