New York Times Launches iPhone Application
NEW YORK, Jul 10, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The New York Times announced today the release of the NYTimes
iPhone application
(http://www.nytimes.com/ref/membercenter/iphonefaq.html), which gives
readers offline reading capabilities, a photo browser with links to
the related articles and personalization options for the iPhone and
iPod touch models.
Available for free at the iPhone App Store, the NYTimes iPhone
application allows users to take advantage of the advanced
capabilities of the iPhone and iPod touch user interface.

The NYTimes iPhone application syncs via Wi-Fi or the user's
cellular network and downloads the latest news directly to the device,
giving readers access to content offline and in airplane mode.
The NYTimes iPhone application includes a fixed ad position on
article pages that functions both online as a click-through ad unit
and offline as a display unit.
Compatible with any iPhone or iPod touch with operating system
version 2.0, the application was designed by The New York Times and
