American Paper Optics takes on Hannah Montana
BARTLETT, Tenn., Jul 24, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The hit "Hannah Montana" movie will be unavoidable on television
this month in every dimension. But it's the folks at American Paper
Optics, LLC ("APO") that will be ready to escape and move on to their
next project. APO recently produced over 40 million 3-D glasses for
the movie "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert"
premiering on the Disney Channel Sat., July. 26 at 8pm/7c. The 3-D
movie will also show on Starz on Demand on Sunday, July 27. The 3-D
glasses were manufactured by APO in less than a 90 day period. The
Hannah Montana 3-D glasses, distributed throughout the United States
and Canada, are available FREE at Wal-Mart stores now and were also
distributed in the July 21 edition of TV Guide.
American Paper Optics has produced and distributed nearly one
billion 3-D glasses worldwide for promotions involving movies, music,
television, web sites, video games, theme parks, and fireworks
displays. APO mega-clients include Disney, National Geographic,
Mattel, Warner Brothers, Crayola, Sports Illustrated, TV Guide, VH-1,
and Dreamworks. Owner John Jerit, named "Small Business Executive of
the Year" in 1998 by the Memphis Business Journal, has literally
changed the way people view the world. He's also had to have big
changes in his production and planning schedules. Jerit says,
"Although there was a lot of careful planning on the Hannah project,
our best work came from the decisions that our production staff made
on the fly. Keep in mind that we produced these 40,000,000 glasses
while millions of other 3D glasses were producing and shipping."
With an endless amount of big studio 3-D movies scheduled for
release in the near future, APO is poised for a bright future. Jerit
says, "before year end we will eclipse one billion (glasses sold)
since the company started 18 years ago. With the world's appetite for
3-D and the demand for our great optical effects, we should sell and
manufacture another billion glasses in the next 5 years."
Currently, APO has begun work on their next massive project;
producing the specialized 3-D glasses that will accompany the Warner
Bros movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in its DVD release.
