Overview
French Creek Golf Club sets in Northern Chester County and has played many roles in its young history. During the Revolutionary War, General Washington marched his troops through the French Creek watershed and often stopped for weapons and armament that was made at the Hopewell Furnace which is located near the entrance to the now French Creek State Park. The area was originally named "Le Beauf "or "Beef" Creek by the French, due to the bison that roamed the creek side. The French settlers had never seen bison before, so they named them "water cattle" and hence the name was given. General Washington, along with his English settlers later named the creek, French Creek for the French who originally named her. French Creek Golf Club currently sits on the site of the Renkert Farm, and many of its original buildings still stand. The current clubhouse, replaced the farmhouse in 2004. Set in historic Chester County, French Creek Golf Club is nestled among the hills and valleys that that make Chester County one of the most beautiful and historic places in the Northeast. French Creek Golf Club, a gem among Chester County's exclusive Golf Clubs, is conveniently located just minutes from Exton, Pennsylvania. Our private club is nestled among the rolling hills of the French Creek Valley and Watershed once home to the peaceful Lenni-Lenape Indians. The serenity and simplicity of that era appears almost unchanged when strolling the grounds of French Creek. ...
