Overview
Diamondhead Ventures was founded in 2000 on the premise that exceptional intellectual property combined with great execution is the key to building future market leaders. Based on this premise we set two vital strategies in place. The first is to draw on universities as a source of new and innovative ideas as well as attractive spinout investment opportunities, as universities offer a rich environment for the origination of truly disruptive ideas. The second strategy is to build a strong and comprehensive support system for our portfolio companies to execute more effectively, leveraging our extensive network of resources. The founding Managing Directors have successful track records of 27 years each in the technology industry, with both operating and investing roles. We also have a combined 39 years of experience working for and with leading research universities. Our roots in both the technology industry and the university system have served as the foundation for building a leading early-stage venture capital firm. Our success is evident by our $140 million inaugural fund that is currently showing returns in the top quartile for performance of vintage 2000 funds.
