Dacra Development Corporation
Overview
Dacra collaborated on landmark renovations of historic art deco hotels and fostered the growth of commercial hubs on famous streets such as Ocean Drive, Espanola Way and Washington Avenue. Dacra then participated in the transformation of Lincoln Road into the vibrant commercial and cultural center it is today. The company?s more recent initiatives include the creation of AQUA, a private new urbanism residential community; and redevelopment of the Miami Design District into an internationally known neighborhood for art and design. Art and design have played an integral role in Dacra?s history, the company has commissioned public works for its neighborhoods, created unique identities for these communities; and has developed and/or attracted first-rate content and programming to enrich these communities. Dacra was instrumental in bringing Art Basel to Miami Beach, and making the annual event an international success. Dacra buildings and neighborhoods play host to annual events and satellite exhibitions for the fair. Building on the success of this relationship, Dacra launched an international design fair (Design Miami/) that coincides with the art show in Basel, Switzerland and Miami, Florida each year.
