Cswitch
Overview
Cswitch was founded by a team of highly experienced semiconductor executives to develop the next generation of configurable solutions for a wide range of networking-based platforms. Their ground-breaking work building advanced processors and ASICs at companies such as LSI Logic, Sun Microsystems, SGI and most recently Transmeta, has allowed them to develop the insight to chart a new course for the networking, telecom, storage and wireless base station markets. Drawing on deep design backgrounds in low-power processors, large-scale integration, and network architecture and equipment, the founders of Cswitch added one fundamentally important ingredient to their development work: input from some of the world's leading network equipment manufacturers. Following their requirements, Cswitch engineers fashioned a revolutionary device that succeeds in delivering a rare hat trick of high performance, lower power and 100% reconfigurability. That device is the Configurable Switch Array chip, and it offers the best of both worlds: the performance of an ASIC with the development cost and time-to-market advantages of an FPGA.
