LGS Completes Video Conference Upgrade for Pennsylvania Army National Guard
VIENNA, Va., Oct 08, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) dedicated to serving the
U.S. government community, announced today it had completed a video
conference upgrade project for the 28th Infantry
Division Pennsylvania Army National Guard located in Harrisburg, Pa.
The 28th Infantry Division is a National Guard
team trained to be highly responsive in its execution of a variety of
missions for both the federal government and the state of Pennsylvania.
The division provides local support during emergency situations
including disaster relief as well as any necessary assistance of civil
lawenforcement authorities and is ready to serve and support federal
missions. The Video Teleconferencing (VTC) facility serves as a
communications hub for meetings with other units throughout the state of
PA and across the country. The meetings are usually for command and
controlpurposes as well and ongoing training initiatives.
LGS worked closely with National Guard's
on-site technical team to upgrade the existing video facility to provide
better screen resolution, sound quality and install new monitors to give
users that ability to view simultaneous video streams.
The customer provided a Tandberg MXP 770 video teleconferencing unit,
which is mainly used for monitor top mounting and small group viewing.
The LGS video group integrated the system and made it into a
projector-based conferencing unit that can handle larger numbers of
participants and still provide quality audio and video.
LGS has unsurpassed skills and experience in video conferencing design
and implementation, network configuration, software engineering, room
design and physical construction. Its expertise extends to more than 100
different components from a wide variety of vendors, enabling government
agencies to have a video solution tailored to meet their needs.
The LGS Custom Software & Video Solutions team has designed, developed,
implemented, integrated and maintained full-scale enterprise database
systems ranging from handfuls of users to hundreds of users. LGS has
extensive technical experience integrating multiple off-the-shelf
