S&P, Dow stocks lower after jobless claims
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The S&P 500 and Dow stock futures fell further on Thursday after data showed a larger-than-expected increase in the number of people filing for unemployment benefits in the latest week.
Nasdaq stock futures were higher, gaining some support from Amazon.com Inc , whose quarterly profit beat Wall Street's forecasts.
S&P 500 futures fell 3.40 points and were about even with fair value, a mathematical formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract.
Dow Jones industrial average futures declined 41 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures gained 6 points.
