Shares of railroads and shippers fluctuated amid a jittery broader market Thursday, as oil soared to a record above $146 per barrel in the last day of trading before the July Fourth holiday.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp., up 70 cents to $93.22.
CSX Corp., down 7 cents to $56.99.
FedEx Corp., down 22 cents to $74.48.
United Parcel Service Inc., up 30 cents to $58.84.
