Closing Glance: Broadline retailers fall
Shares of broadline retailers fell on Wednesday, a day before many report on last month's same-store sales.
Same-store sales, or sales in stores open at least one year, is a key retail metric because it measures growth at existing stores rather than newly opened ones.
Retailers are expected to report same-store sales ahead of expectations, helped by better weather and rebate checks.
Here's how broadline retailers fared on Wednesday:
Wal-Mart Stores Inc., down $1.44, or 2.4 percent, to $57.67.
Target Corp., down $1.35, or 2.8 percent, to $47.32.
Costco Wholesale Corp., down $2.50, or 3.4 percent, to $72.16.
BJ Wholesale Club Inc., down 65 cents to $40.43.
