Green Bay Packers

National Football League team in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Ownership: More than 112,000 fans, from all 50 states, hold 4.7 million shares of the nonprofit Green Bay Packers Corp.

Revenue: $218 million

Governance: Shareholders elect the board of directors.

Poison pill: To discourage the team from leaving town, the articles of incorporation were drafted so that profits from a sale would go to a local American Legion post to create a soldiers’ memorial. A 1997 vote changed the beneficiary to the Green Bay Packers Foundation, the team’s charitable arm.
