ALSO ON THE CALENDAR: The Studio Museum in Harlem's annual gala on October 27. "This is one of the premier art museums focusing on and specializing in African American artists and artists of color," she says. "It is a gem."

WOULDN'T MISS: American Ballet Theatre's opening night gala at City Center in New York on October 21.

ALSO ON THE CALENDAR: The revival of South Pacific at the Vivian Beaumont Theater in Lincoln Center; Body of Lies, opening October 10, a film about a C.I.A. operative in Amman, Jordan, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.
