Sheelah Kolhatkar

Prior to joining Condé Nast Portfolio, Sheelah Kolhatkar was a feature writer for the New York Observer, covering topics such as culture, media, politics, and finance. While there, she wrote dozens of profiles on subjects ranging from French celebrity philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy to former New York governor George Pataki.

Her work has also appeared in the Atlantic Monthly (where she wrote most recently about the service industry that caters to America's ultra-wealthy) as well as the New York Times, Elle, and other publications. Before becoming a journalist, Kolhatkar spent five years as an analyst at two hedge funds in New York City.

Kolhatkar holds a B.F.A. from New York University and an M.A. from Stanford University.
