Scot Paltrow

Scot Paltrow is a contributing editor at Condé Nast Portfolio, a monthly business magazine that launched in May 2007.

Paltrow joined the magazine from the Wall Street Journal, where he was an investigative reporter and senior special writer. While at the Journal, Paltrow wrote many investigative stories related to the White House, Congress, national security, and the insurance industry. Prior to the Journal, Paltrow was an investigative reporter and the New York financial bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times. He has also worked at the Wall Street Journal Europe and the Los Angeles bureau of the Wall Street Journal.

Paltrow was awarded a George Polk award, a Gerald Loeb award, and a John Hancock award for his story on Prudential Securities in 1993, as well as another John Hancock award in 1992 for his investigative series on dishonest brokers at major Wall Street securities firms.

Paltrow graduated with a B.A. from Cornell University and a master’s in international relations from the London School of Economics. He lives in New York City.
